North Western Railway (NWR), through the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Jaipur, has released Notice No. 04/2026 (NWR/AA) for the engagement of Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the year 2026-27, against 2,008 training slots across various ITI trades at Workshops/Units within North Western Railway’s jurisdiction. Eligible candidates can apply online at rrcjaipur.in from 7 October 2026 to 6 November 2026 (23:59 hrs).
Important Note: Three things to check before applying. First, candidates may select only one Division/Unit out of the 8 listed, and no change is allowed after final submission – verify that a training slot exists for your specific ITI trade in that unit before selecting it. Second, no centralised merit list is formed – each unit prepares its own merit list, trade-wise and community-wise, separately from candidates who applied for that specific unit. Third, no hostel accommodation is provided during training – selected candidates must arrange their own stay.

Stipend and Training
Training period and stipend follow extant Railway Board rules; a specific stipend figure is not stated in this notification. No hostel accommodation is provided – candidates must arrange their own stay during training. Before training begins, the selected candidate (or guardian, if a minor) must sign a Contract of Apprenticeship with the employer.
Selection Process
Selection is based on a merit list calculated as the simple average of the percentage of marks in Matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate) and the percentage of marks in ITI, in the trade applied for.
- Matriculation percentage considers marks in all subjects, not any single subject/group.
- ITI percentage is taken from the provisional/final certificate.
- Ties are resolved by preferring the older candidate; if DOB is also the same, whoever passed Matriculation earlier is ranked higher.
- The final merit list is prepared division/unit-wise, trade-wise, and community-wise – no centralised merit list is formed.
- Shortlisted candidates undergo Document Verification and must produce a medical fitness certificate (Annexure-IV format) from a Government-authorised Gazetted Doctor.
Medical Fitness for PwBD Candidates
Standards include Locomotor Disability/Cerebral Palsy (not less than 40% relevant disability) and Hearing Impairment (loss of 60 decibels or more in the better ear, including Deaf, Dumb, or Deaf & Dumb candidates), among other benchmark disability categories defined in the notification.

Important Instructions
- Candidates may apply for only one unit; multiple applications with differing particulars will result in summary rejection of all such applications.
- Name, father’s name, and date of birth must exactly match the Matriculation certificate – any mismatch found at Document Verification leads to cancellation and debarment.
- Training on the Railway does not confer any right to absorption/employment after completion; it is not obligatory for the employer to offer, or the apprentice to accept, employment.
- Canvassing in any form disqualifies the candidature.
- For help with online submission, candidates can call the helpline published on the website, available 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (except Sundays/holidays) until the last date of application.
