The three categories are Technician Apprentice (Diploma), Trade Apprentice (ITI and Data Entry Operator) and Graduate Apprentice. The training is across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Chhattisgarh, UT of Daman and Diu and UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Important Note: Three critical things every candidate must know. Important eligibility conditions:
- Only REGULAR FULL-TIME qualifications are accepted. Part-time, correspondence or distance mode qualifications make the candidate NOT ELIGIBLE.
- Candidates holding or pursuing B.E./B.Tech, MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB or equivalent (completed on or before joining) are NOT ELIGIBLE for any category.
- CGPA/letter grades must be converted to percentage using the institution’s own conversion norms; certificate to be produced at document verification.
- A candidate may undergo a maximum of TWO apprenticeship trainings in total, and the second must be in a different trade with at least 1 year gap.
- Candidates who have previously completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in IOCL are not eligible.

Other disability types are excluded due to the hazardous nature of the industry.
IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
- No written test or interview.
- Merit list prepared based on percentage of marks in the prescribed qualifying examination.
- Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification and a Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness Test.

- On completion of the 12-month apprenticeship, IOCL has no obligation to offer employment.
