IOB Recruitment 2026 - 291 Generalist and SO Posts

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a leading Public Sector Bank headquartered in Chennai, has released Advertisement No. HRDD/RECT/04/2026-27 dated 28 August 2026 for recruitment of 291 Generalist and Specialist Officers across 14 post codes in JMGS Scale I, MMG Scale II and MMG Scale III. Posts span Manager (Branch Management), Manager and Senior Manager in IT, Information Security, Information Security Audit, Database Administration, Network Administration and Cyber Security, Manager and Senior Manager (Credit), Senior Manager (Risk) and Assistant Manager (Security). Applications open on 29 August 2026 and close on 15 September 2026 at ibpsreg.ibps.in/iobgoaug26/. Selection is through an Online Examination followed by a Personal Interview, with 80% weightage to the exam and 20% to the interview in the final merit list.

Important – Read Before You Apply: Four things to act on before you fill the form. First, eligibility – age, educational qualification and post-qualification experience – is assessed as on 1 August 2026, not the application closing date – check your experience tally carefully for each post because the requirement varies from 2 years to 8 years and the reference date is a month before the closing date. Second, four separate items must be uploaded – photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration – the handwritten declaration is a specific paragraph you must write in your own hand on a white sheet, scan and upload; failing to upload any of the four will cause rejection even on an otherwise complete application. Third, a Financial Service Indemnity Bond is mandatory on joining – Rs. 2,00,000 for JMGS I and Rs. 2,50,000 for MMGS II and III, each covering a minimum of 3 years of service – this is a binding commitment, not a refundable deposit; factor this into your decision before applying. Fourth, Ration Card is explicitly not accepted as identity proof at any stage – Passport, Aadhaar, e-Aadhaar, PAN Card, Driving Licence or Voter’s Card are the accepted documents.
