The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the e-Admit Card for the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026 and the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination 2026 on 14 August 2026, covering IAS and IFS candidates who qualified the Preliminary Examination held on 24 May 2026 and submitted the Detailed Application Form. The Mains examination is being held from 21 to 30 August 2026 across multiple exam sessions. As of today (28 August 2026) the examination is ongoing — candidates appearing on 29 and 30 August must download their admit card immediately from upsconline.nic.in if they have not done so already. The e-Admit Card is accessed using Registration ID or Roll Number and Date of Birth.
Important – Read Before You Download: Three things every Mains candidate must act on right now. First, the exam is in progress — if you are scheduled for 29 or 30 August and have not yet downloaded your admit card, do it today — do not wait; the portal at upsconline.nic.in is live and the card is available without any deadline restriction until the exam concludes. Second, carry a printed copy of the e-Admit Card along with an original valid photo ID to the exam centre — Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, Driving Licence or Passport are accepted; a digital copy on a phone is not a substitute for the printed admit card at the exam hall gate. Third, check your name, roll number, exam centre, date and timing on the admit card the moment you download it — if there is any discrepancy, contact UPSC immediately through upsc.gov.in rather than waiting until exam day.
