The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released CEN No. 04/2026 for direct recruitment to 4029 posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and, following Corrigendum-1 dated 18 August 2026, the newly added Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA). The original notification published on 13 August 2026 covered 3993 vacancies across JE and DMS posts in 21 RRBs; Corrigendum-1 added 35 CMA vacancies and one additional JE/Electrical/TRS vacancy at RRB Secunderabad, bringing the total to 4029. The notification is now referred to as CEN No. 04/2026 (JE/DMS/CMA). Applications are open from 14 August 2026 to 13 September 2026 at 23:59 hours at rrbapply.gov.in. Pay Level 6 with initial pay of Rs. 35,400 for all three posts.
Important – Read Before You Apply: Four things that will permanently bar you from this recruitment. First, you may apply to only one RRB with a single application – submitting multiple applications to different RRBs, or more than one application to the same RRB, will result in rejection of all your applications and debarment from future RRB/RRC examinations; there is no remedy for this once submitted. Second, the mobile number and email ID you use to create your account on rrbapply.gov.in cannot be changed at any stage, including during the modification window – use your own personal and active mobile number and email, not someone else’s, and not a number you might lose access to. Third, a live photo must be captured using a webcam or front camera during application – no static upload is accepted – candidates applying from devices without a camera cannot complete the application; arrange access to a camera-equipped device before the last date. Fourth, candidates who have not completed their qualifying qualification by 13 September 2026 are not eligible – “appearing” candidates cannot apply; the diploma or degree must be in hand on or before the closing date.
