SHS Bihar Specialist Doctor Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 450 Anaesthetist, Paediatrician, Gynaecologist and More Posts | Advt. No. 03/2026 | NHM Contractual | Honorarium up to Rs. 1,20,000/Month | Last Date 21 August 2026 | shs.bihar.gov.in

The State Health Society, Bihar (SHSB), functioning under the National Health Mission (NHM), has released Advertisement No. 03/2026 inviting online applications for a Walk-In Recruitment Drive for 450 Specialist Doctor posts on a contractual basis in government health facilities across Bihar. The posts are spread across six specialist categories – Anaesthetist (132), Paediatrician (115), Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (94), MD Medicine/Physician (60), General Surgeon (27) and Orthopaedic Surgeon (22). The online application opens on 07 August 2026 at 10:00 AM and closes on 21 August 2026 at 6:00 PM at shs.bihar.gov.in. Candidates with relevant MD/MS/DNB or Diploma in the applicable specialty and registered (or eligible for registration) with BCMR Patna / MCI / NMC can apply. Selected candidates receive a fixed monthly honorarium of Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 1,20,000 depending on qualification and place of posting. Engagement is initially for 11 months, extendable based on performance.

Important Note: Four things every applying candidate must verify before 21 August 2026. First, this is a contractual engagement initially for 11 months under NHM – it is not a regular/permanent government appointment and does not confer the rights, benefits or service conditions of a permanent State Government employee. Second, candidates without current BCMR (Bihar Council of Medical Registration) registration can still apply, but must submit a sworn affidavit undertaking to obtain BCMR registration before joining – failure to obtain registration before the joining date may result in cancellation of candidature. Third, the merit list is prepared out of 100 marks – 60 marks are computed from MBBS percentage (% × 0.60) and 40 marks for PG degree or 30 marks for Diploma holders. Candidates from foreign medical institutes use their FMGE score instead of MBBS percentage. Fourth, candidates can indicate up to 3 preferred districts for posting in the online application – fill this carefully as it cannot be changed after submission and district allotment is subject to vacancy availability.
