The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), through the ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB), has released Advertisement No. ISRO:ICRB:01(A-JPA):2026 dated 27 July 2026 on the official website isro.gov.in, inviting online applications for 244 vacancies across four posts – Assistant (113), Junior Personal Assistant/JPA (82), Upper Division Clerk/UDC (22) and Stenographer (10) – including posts under Autonomous Institutions under the Department of Space (DOS). All posts are at Level 4 of the Pay Matrix with a minimum basic pay of Rs. 25,500 per month. The online application window opened on 27 July 2026 at 10:00 AM and closes on 16 August 2026 at 11:55 PM. Candidates must hold a Graduation with minimum 60% marks (or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale) with computer proficiency, and must be within the prescribed age limit as on 16 August 2026. Selection is through a Written Test followed by a Skill Test, with final merit based on written test marks alone, from among skill test qualifiers.
Important Note: Four things every candidate must verify before applying. First, the minimum marks requirement is 60% (CGPA 6.32/10) in graduation – not just a pass – and the degree must have been completed within the stipulated duration of the course. Candidates with arrears, extended duration or marks below 60% are not eligible. Second, the application fee structure has a refund mechanism – all candidates pay Rs. 500/- processing fee initially, but Rs. 400/- is refunded to general/OBC/EWS candidates who appear in the written test; the entire Rs. 500/- is refunded to Women, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates who appear in the test. No refund if absent from the written test. Third, candidates can apply for more than one post (e.g., both Assistant and JPA), but must choose the same written test centre for all posts; applying for the same post in different zones is not permitted. Fourth, for JPA and Stenographer posts, in addition to graduation/diploma, candidates must have a minimum stenography speed of 60 words per minute in English – this is a non-negotiable eligibility condition, not just a skill test criterion.
