IBPS CLERK RECRUITMENT 2026

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the detailed notification for Common Recruitment Process CRP CSA-XVI on 1 August 2026, inviting online applications for 11,403 Customer Service Associate (CSA) / Clerical Cadre vacancies in 11 participating public sector banks across India, to fill posts for the financial year 2027-28. The post was earlier known as IBPS Clerk and has been officially renamed Customer Service Associate (CSA). Applications are open online from 1 August 2026 to 21 August 2026 at ibps.in. Eligible graduates aged 20 to 28 years as on 1 August 2026, proficient in the official language of the State / UT applied for, may apply. The Preliminary Examination is scheduled for 10 and 11 October 2026, and the Main Examination for 27 December 2026. The pay scale is Rs. 24,050 – 64,480.

Important Note: Three conditions specific to IBPS CSA-XVI must be checked carefully before applying. First, recruitment is conducted on a State / UT-wise basis – a candidate can apply for vacancies in only one State or Union Territory, and the exam performance is assessed within that state pool. Applying for multiple states in the same cycle is not permitted. Second, proficiency in the official language of the State / UT applied for (reading, writing and speaking) is a mandatory eligibility condition. If a candidate is not proficient in that language at the time of joining, they will be required to pass a Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT), failing which they will not receive confirmation of service. Third, the 11,403 vacancies are indicative – the final vacancy count is subject to the actual vacancies reported by participating banks before the provisional allotment stage. The actual allotment may differ from the indicative figure.
