Understanding the Result Preamble, Main List and Reserve List

A Result Preamble is the notice RPSC publishes alongside the result. It states the cut-off marks for each category in that subject and explains the basis on which the lists were prepared.

The Main List contains candidates provisionally shortlisted based on their marks and the cut-off for their category.

The Reserve List contains candidates kept in reserve. They are considered for appointment only if posts remain unfilled after candidates from the Main List are processed.

Appearing in either list does not guarantee final appointment. Candidature remains provisional until document verification is complete.
