Punjab Lecturer Cadre Recruitment 2026 - 1013 Posts

The Directorate of School Education, Recruitment Directorate, Punjab has released the Punjab Lecturer Cadre Recruitment 2026 notification dated 25 June 2026 for 1,013 Lecturer vacancies (829 Fresh plus 184 Backlog) across 12 subjects in Punjab Government schools, under the Punjab Educational Service (School and Inspection) Group-B Rules, 2018. The last date to apply online has been extended to 27 August 2026, giving applicants 9 more days from today. Candidates must have MA in the concerned subject with minimum 55% marks and B.Ed with the teaching subject from a recognised university. The application portal is erd.punjab.gov.in. Application fee is Rs. 2,000 for General and Rs. 1,000 for SC or BC candidates; Physically Handicapped candidates are fully exempt. Selection is through a Written Examination (150 marks, 150 MCQ questions) followed by a Personal Interview. History has the largest vacancy at 210 posts, followed by English (141) and Political Science (131).

Important Note: Three things every applicant must verify before submitting. First, the 55% marks condition is specifically in your MA in the concerned subject – not your overall graduation CGPA or combined postgraduate percentage. A candidate with an MA in History must have scored at least 55% in that MA specifically (50% for SC, BC and PH candidates). If your university awarded CGPA, check whether the conversion formula brings you to 55% equivalent. Second, your B.Ed teaching subject must match the lecturer post you are applying for – a candidate with MA in History must have History as the B.Ed teaching subject. The B.Ed subject combination is verified at document verification. If there is a mismatch, your candidature is cancelled even if you clear the written exam and interview. Third, the EWS certificate must be for FY 2025-26 – EWS certificates issued for an earlier financial year are not accepted. If your EWS certificate is from a previous year, obtain a fresh one before the application window closes on 27 August 2026.
