NTPC Limited, India’s largest integrated power utility and a Government of India Enterprise, has released Advertisement No. 10/26 inviting online applications from experienced professionals for 135 Deputy Manager (E-4 Grade) posts in Electrical (40), Mechanical (55) and Control and Instrumentation (40) disciplines. This is a lateral recruitment targeted at working professionals with a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification executive experience in the Power Sector (Coal, Gas, Lignite). Fresh graduates and candidates without power sector experience are not eligible. Selected candidates will draw the E-4 Grade IDA pay scale of Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 2,00,000 per month. The online application window opens on 12 August 2026 and closes on 26 August 2026. Apply online at careers.ntpc.co.in.
Important Note: Three things every applicant must verify before paying the fee. First, this is a lateral recruitment for experienced power sector professionals only – the minimum requirement is 10 years of post-qualification executive experience (including training period, if any) specifically in Coal, Gas or Lignite-based power projects, in Operation, Maintenance, Commissioning, Erection, Engineering, Energy Efficiency, Project Management or Field Quality. Experience in other sectors does not count. Second, candidates currently working in Government or PSUs have an additional two-year service condition – of the 10 years required, at least 2 years must be in the pay scale of Rs. 60,000 to 1,80,000 (E-3 Grade of NTPC or equivalent) or above, and such candidates must also provide a No Objection Certificate from their employer while applying; NOC submitted at a later stage is not acceptable. Third, meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee shortlisting or an interview call – NTPC reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility bar, shortlist based on marks percentage or years of experience beyond the stated minimum, and conduct a multi-stage selection process at its discretion. The fee, once paid, is non-refundable. Apply only after reading the full official notification at careers.ntpc.co.in.
