The High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur, has released the notification for Direct Recruitment to 1,174 posts of Assistant Grade III in the District and Sessions Courts across Madhya Pradesh. The recruitment covers 1,021 main vacancies and 153 provisional vacancies. Pay is at the 7th Pay Commission scale of Rs. 19,500 to Rs. 62,000. Candidates must hold a Graduation degree, a valid CPCT Score Card from MAP-IT or a recognised agency, and a one-year Diploma in Computer Applications or an accepted equivalent qualification. Age is reckoned as on 1 January 2026 and the upper age limit is 40 years for UR and Out-of-State male candidates. Applications are submitted online only through mphc.gov.in from 17 August 2026 at 12:00 PM to 15 September 2026 at 5:00 PM. A correction window is available from 19 to 21 September 2026. Selection is through an Online Preliminary Examination (100 marks, 120 minutes), followed by a Hindi Typing Test (Remington Gail keyboard, 350 words in 10 minutes) and Document Verification.

Important Note: Three things every applicant must verify before paying the fee. First, CPCT score card is a mandatory eligibility condition – the Computer Proficiency and Certification Test (CPCT) conducted by MAP-IT, Madhya Pradesh, must have been passed and a valid, unexpired scorecard must be held as on the application date. If you do not have a valid CPCT scorecard, you cannot apply regardless of your graduation or computer diploma. If your CPCT has expired, appear in the next cycle and obtain a fresh scorecard before the portal closes on 15 September. Second, the total fee payable is Rs. 943.40 for UR and out-of-state candidates and Rs. 743.40 for MP reserved category and PwD candidates – both amounts include a portal or service charge of Rs. 743.40 in addition to the examination fee of Rs. 200 (UR) or Rs. 0 (reserved). The portal charge is not a refundable processing fee. Third, 153 of the 1,174 vacancies are provisional – these may be confirmed or cancelled depending on whether the underlying sanctioned posts are regularised by the competent authority. Candidates selected against provisional vacancies may be subject to further adjustment.

Stage 2 – Hindi Typing Skill Test

Candidates shortlisted from the Preliminary Examination appear for the Hindi Typing Test. Key details:

  • Duration: 10 minutes
  • Target: Approximately 350 words in Hindi
  • Keyboard: Remington Gail keyboard layout
  • Total Marks: 50 marks
  • Negative marking: 0.50 marks deducted per mistake or omitted word; 0.10 marks deducted per backspace use

Candidates must practise the Remington Gail keyboard layout specifically – other layouts such as Mangal or Krutidev will not be used.

Stage 3 – Document Verification and Other Formalities

Shortlisted candidates after the typing test must produce original documents for verification and complete any other prescribed formalities. Candidature is liable to cancellation if documents do not match the online application.
