CPCB RECRUITMENT 2026 - 51 POSTS UNDER NAMAMI GANGE PROJECT

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has released Advertisement No. 02/WQM-II/2025-Admin.(R) inviting online applications for 51 posts on a contract basis under the Strengthening of Environmental Regulators (SER) Phase-III Project on River Ganga. The project is funded by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Namami Gange Programme and runs until 06 May 2028. Posts span nine categories – Scientist-D, Scientist-C, Scientist-B, Assistant Manager (Finance), Administrative Assistant, Scientific Assistant, Taxonomist, Data Entry Operator and Field Assistant – with consolidated monthly emoluments ranging from Rs. 38,741 for Field Assistant to Rs. 1,71,597 for Scientist-D. Selection Process

Selection is through interview, subject to document verification and screening.

If a large number of candidates apply for a post, the Selection or Screening Committee may shortlist candidates for interview using any one or more of the following criteria – written examination, percentage of marks obtained, desirable qualification, relevant experience, higher qualification, or any other criteria deemed fit by the Committee. Candidates who clear document verification and screening will be called for the interview in Delhi.

Documents to carry at document verification:

Original mark sheets, degrees and testimonials, date-of-birth certificate, experience certificates, self-attested photocopies of each document, Aadhaar Card or other government-approved photo ID, and one recent passport-size photograph.

Applications are accepted online only through the CPCB website. The portal opens on 24 August 2026 at 10:00 AM.

  1. Visit cpcb.gov.in and go to the Jobs section from 24 August 2026 onwards.
  2. Register using a valid email ID and active mobile number. Keep both accessible throughout the entire recruitment process – all communication will be sent to these.
  3. In the Name field during registration, enter your name exactly as it appears on your degree certificate. This field cannot be edited after registration.
  4. Select the post and essential qualification from the dropdown, and enter your date of birth. Note the Registration Number generated.
  5. Log in using the Registration Number and date of birth (which also serves as the password).
  6. Fill in post selection, qualification and experience details carefully.
  7. Upload JPEG images of your photograph and signature, and upload your Experience Certificate.
  8. Upload additionally: copies of PhD discipline proof if applicable, and the page showing your name as author or co-author on any published paper, book or journal, as applicable to your post.
  9. Review every entry before final submission. Once submitted, applications cannot be altered, resubmitted or deleted under any circumstances.
