BANK OF BARODA LBO RECRUITMENT 2026

Bank of Baroda (BOB), one of India’s leading public sector banks, has released Advertisement No. BOB/HRM/REC/ADVT/2026/16 for the recruitment of 2,482 Local Bank Officer (LBO) posts at JMG Scale-I (Junior Management Grade Scale-I) on a regular basis across 20 states and UTs of India. This is a regular (permanent) appointment, not a contractual engagement. Applications are open from 18 August 2026 to 7 September 2026 at the official portal through the IBPS registration platform. Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience as an Officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank is mandatory. Local language proficiency for the state applied for is also mandatory. Selected candidates are posted within the state they apply for, for the first 12 years of service or until promotion to SMGS-IV, whichever is earlier. Application fee is Rs. 850 for General, EWS and OBC and Rs. 175 for SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and Women candidates. Selection is through an Online Test (120 marks, 120 minutes), Group Discussion or Personal Interview and Local Language Proficiency Test.

Important Note: Three things every banking professional must verify before applying. First, minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank is mandatory – experience as a clerk, contractual employee or in a non-banking entity does not qualify. Only officer-grade service in a bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India counts. Second, you can apply for only one state – and the local language of that state must be known to you (reading, writing, speaking and understanding). Candidates must qualify the Local Language Proficiency Test before final appointment unless they have studied the local language at 10th or 12th standard level. Choosing a state where you genuinely know the language is essential. Third, current BOB employees in officer cadre or on contract, and candidates who resigned or exited BOB within the last 3 years as on 1 August 2026, are not eligible – this bar applies regardless of whether you now meet all other qualifications. If you left BOB within 3 years, do not apply.
