Horizontal reservation: 4% PwD, 10% Ex-Servicemen (ESM), 5% Meritorious Sports Persons (MSP) – at the discretion of the Appointing Authority. Note that PwD candidates have no reserved vacancies in the CCI, Cook, MTS (Chowkidar), Cleaner, Tradesman Mate (Labour) and Civilian Motor Driver posts.

Physical Standards and Endurance Test

Physical standards apply to Fireman, Fire Engine Driver and Leading Fireman posts. Tradesman Mate (Labour) has a separate endurance test.

Duration: 2 hours for all four parts combined. Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer. Question papers are bilingual (English and Hindi) except General English, which is English only. All tests are conducted at ASC Centre (South), Bangalore only – no change of centre is permitted.

Final merit list is based solely on Written Test marks. No TA/DA is admissible for attending any stage of selection.


How to Apply for ASC Centre (South) Recruitment 2026

Applications are accepted offline by post only. There is no online application mode.

  1. Download the official notification and note the prescribed application proforma (Appendix format) given at the end of the notification.
  2. Fill the application on plain paper, typed or neatly handwritten in English or Hindi.
  3. Paste one recent self-attested passport-size photograph on the application form. Enclose two additional self-attested passport-size photographs separately. Mobile printouts and selfies are not accepted.
  4. Attach self-attested copies of all required documents – Aadhaar Card, domicile certificate, Matriculation Pass Certificate, Class X marksheet, experience certificate (where applicable), caste/category certificate, ESM/PwD/MSP certificate as applicable.
  5. Fill the Admit Card in duplicate in the prescribed format given in the notification and enclose it with the application.
  6. Enclose one self-addressed envelope with the appropriate postal stamp.
  7. On the outer cover envelope, write “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ____” in capital letters. Write your Matriculation percentage in the specified colour – Red ink for 50% or below, Blue ink for 51% to 60%, Black ink for 61% and above.
  8. Give your preference of three stations in the application form. Final posting is at the Commandant’s discretion.

Important Instructions
  • Apply for only one trade. Applications from candidates found applying for more than one trade will be rejected.
  • The envelope colour-coding based on Matriculation percentage is mandatory. Red (50% or below), Blue (51% to 60%), Black (61% and above).
  • PwD candidates have no reserved vacancies in CCI, Cook, MTS (Chowkidar), Cleaner, Tradesman Mate (Labour) and Civilian Motor Driver posts.
  • Aadhaar card prepared before the age of 10 years will not be accepted. Name on Aadhaar and PAN must match the School Certificate exactly.
  • OBC candidates must submit a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate and must submit the undertaking in Appendix-IV format provided in the notification.
  • ESM candidates must submit their ESM certificate, a self-attested copy of the Discharge Certificate and the undertaking in Appendix-III format.
  • Serving Defence personnel and Defence Civilian employees currently in service must enclose an NOC from their Record Office.
  • Government employees (Central/State/PSU) must apply through proper channel with an employer’s no-objection and no-disciplinary-action certificate.
  • All selected candidates are liable for All India service and may be posted to hard areas, high altitude areas, remote localities or field areas.
  • Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee a call for tests; shortlisting may be done if applications are large in number.
  • Call letters for the skill/physical and written tests are sent by email as well as post. Candidates must ensure their functional mobile number and email address are mentioned in the application.
  • There is no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of scores. No correspondence on this will be entertained.
