Airports Authority of India (AAI), Regional Headquarters (Northern Region), a Schedule A Miniratna Category-1 Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has released Advertisement No. 01/2026/APPRENTICE/GRADUATE/DIPLOMA/ITI/NR for 205 Apprenticeship Training seats – 80 Graduate Apprentices, 65 Diploma Apprentices and 60 ITI Trade Apprentices – under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the year 2026-27 at various Northern Region airports. Monthly stipend is Rs. 15,000 for Graduate, Rs. 12,000 for Diploma and Rs. 9,600 for ITI Trade apprentices, with the Government contributing a portion through DBT. Training duration is 1 year. Domicile of one of 11 specified North Indian states or UTs is mandatory. Candidates must have passed their qualifying degree, diploma or ITI in 2024 or after. Graduate and Diploma apprentices apply through the NATS 2.0 portal (nats.education.gov.in); ITI Trade apprentices apply through the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in). The last date for online application is 16 September 2026. There is no application fee and no written examination. This apprenticeship carries no assurance of regular employment with AAI.
Important Note: Three things every applicant must verify before submitting. First, domicile of one of the 11 specified states or UTs is mandatory – only candidates from Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh or Uttarakhand are eligible. Candidates from any other state or UT cannot apply regardless of their qualification or passing year. Second, candidates with 1 year or more of post-qualification job experience or apprenticeship experience are not eligible as per the Apprentices Act, 1961. This is an important bar that excludes working professionals or those who have already trained elsewhere after completing their degree or diploma. Third, the training location allotted is final and cannot be changed – AAI Northern Region covers airports across Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, Punjab, HP, J&K, MP and other northern states, and your posting will be at one of the 40-plus airports and offices in this region based on your registration location on the portal. If you are unwilling to be posted at a remote northern airport, consider carefully before applying.
