Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be Indian nationals possessing the requisite qualification from a Government-recognized University or Institute. Coaching experience should preferably be more than 15 years in the respective sports discipline, along with the specific certification or license required for that discipline, assessed as on 19 August 2026. SAIL ex-employees and other Non-SAIL ex-employees who separated through Voluntary Retirement are not eligible for this engagement.
Age Limit (as on 19 August 2026)
Upper age limit of 64 years, with the overall scheme ceiling at 65 years. Engaged Consultants must be medically fit throughout the tenure.
Remuneration and Tenure

The remuneration applies for a minimum engagement of 6 hours a day, six days a week, and will be pro-rated for hours outside that band. The initial tenure is one year, extendable by one year at a time at the Company’s discretion, up to a maximum of three years, with no bar on re-engagement afterward, subject always to the upper age limit of 65 years.
Selection Process
Selection is through Walk-in Interview, subject to Medical Fitness. There is no written examination.
Documents Required at the Interview
- Filled-in Application Format (Annexure-A) with one recent passport-size colour photograph – no other application format will be accepted.
- Proof of Date of Birth (SSLC/Matriculation Certificate).
- Certificates and mark sheets for the required qualification.
- Caste/Category certificate, wherever applicable.
- Experience certificate(s); retired employees must provide a Service Certificate from their parent organization.
- Photo Identity Proof (Voter ID/Aadhaar Card/Passport/Driving License).
- No Objection Certificate from the present employer, if currently employed under a PSU, Autonomous Body, or Government Department.
- A self-certificate confirming the candidate has not separated through Voluntary Retirement.
All documents must be produced in original along with a set of self-attested photocopies – candidates who cannot produce originals will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
