The Health Department, Government of Bihar, through the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB), has released Advertisement No. BCECEB/Health(SR)/2026(II)/01 dated 24 August 2026 inviting online applications for panel formation towards appointment to 118 tenure posts of Senior Resident/Tutor in state medical and dental colleges and hospitals. Online registration is open from 25 August 2026 and the last date is 8 September 2026 at 10:00 PM, with fee payment permitted until 11:59 PM the same night. The post carries Pay Level-09, is a 3-year tenure appointment (not a permanent post), and requires a Postgraduate degree in the concerned subject/specialty. Candidates with DNB/DNB Super Speciality qualifications are also eligible as per NMC Teachers Eligibility Qualifications Regulations 2025. The counselling fee is Rs. 2,250 for all categories.
Important – Read Before You Apply: Four things that determine how your application is ranked and processed. First, this is a tenure post for 3 years, not a permanent appointment — the post ends at the end of the tenure period and does not lead to regularisation. Second, 40% of posts go to Bihar State Health Service cadre members, 40% to PG degree holders from Bihar institutions, and only 20% to PG degree holders from outside Bihar — know which category you fall under before applying, as this directly determines your competition pool. Third, postgraduate diploma holders are ranked 10 marks lower than postgraduate degree holders in the merit list — diploma holders are considered only when PG-degree candidates are insufficient; if PG-degree candidates are available for your subject, diploma holders will not be selected. Fourth, candidates who have already completed a 3-year Senior Resident/Tutor tenure in the same subject are not eligible to reapply for the tenure post in that subject.
