RSSB JE Recruitment 2026 - 874 Posts

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), also known as Rajasthan Karmchari Chayan Board, Jaipur, has released Advertisement No. 10/2026 for Junior Engineer (Kanisth Abhiyanta) Joint Direct Recruitment 2026, notifying 874 vacancies across three state government departments – Public Works Department (PWD), Water Resources Department and Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). Of the 874 posts, 793 are in the non-scheduled area and 81 in the scheduled area of Rajasthan. Posts are for Junior Engineer (Civil) Degree Holder, Junior Engineer (Civil) Diploma Holder and Junior Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) Diploma Holder. The post carries Pay Matrix Level-10 under the 7th Pay Commission, with a 2-year probation period on fixed remuneration. The online application window is open from 16 August 2026 to 14 September 2026 at 11:59 PM through the SSO Rajasthan portal. The tentative exam month is February 2027.

Important – Read Before You Apply: Five things about this recruitment that are critical and commonly missed. First, this is a joint recruitment across three departments but if you want to apply to more than one department or cadre (e.g., both PWD and Water Resources, or both Degree and Diploma posts), you must submit a separate application for each. Second, age is reckoned as on 1 January 2027, not the application closing date – this is unusual and means candidates born on or after 2 January 1987 are too young, and those born before 2 January 2009 must confirm they are at least 18. Third, reserved category relaxations apply only to original residents of Rajasthan – candidates from other states are treated as General category. Fourth, during the 2-year probation period, no DA, HRA or allowances are paid – only a fixed monthly remuneration. Fifth, working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture are mandatory eligibility conditions for all three JE cadres.
