The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has released two recruitment notifications vide Advertisement Notice No. 4-8/2026-PSC (R-III) dated 09 July 2026 for a total of 734 posts of Police Constable in the Himachal Pradesh Police Department – 491 posts under Advertisement No. 57/7-2026 for Male candidates and 243 posts under Advertisement No. 58/7-2026 for Female candidates. The pay scale for both is Level 3, Rs. 20,200 to Rs. 64,000. The last date for online application has been extended to 5 September 2026 at 11:59 PM. Applications are accepted only through the HPPSC Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal, accessible via the official HPPSC website. Persons with Disabilities are not eligible to apply for this examination.

Important – Read Before You Apply: Four things about this recruitment that are easy to miss. First, there are two separate advertisements – one for Male (Advt. 57/7-2026) and one for Female (Advt. 58/7-2026). Apply under the correct one. How to Apply for HPPSC Police Constable Recruitment 2026

Applications are accepted online only through the HPPSC ORA portal. The link closes at 11:59 PM on 5 September 2026.

  1. Visit the official HPPSC website at hppsc.hp.gov.in/hppsc.
  2. Click on “Apply Online” on the homepage.
  3. If you are a new user, click “One Time Registration (OTR) for Examinations” and complete the New Registration process first. OTR is mandatory before applying.
  4. Log in to your OTR account and view the live advertisements on your dashboard.
  5. Select the relevant post – Police Constable Male (Advt. 57/7-2026) or Police Constable Female (Advt. 58/7-2026) – and fill in all personal, educational and category details carefully.
  6. Choose your preferred district for the Physical Test and Written Test. This choice is final and cannot be changed after submission.
  7. Upload all required documents as specified in the advertisement.
  8. Accept the declaration regarding accuracy and legibility of uploaded documents.

Important Instructions
