Airports Authority of India (AAI), Regional Headquarters (Northern Region), a Schedule A Miniratna Category-1 Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has released Advertisement No. 01/2026/APPRENTICE/GRADUATE/DIPLOMA/ITI/NR for 205 Apprenticeship Training seats80 Graduate Apprentices, 65 Diploma Apprentices and 60 ITI Trade Apprentices – under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the year 2026-27 at various Northern Region airports. Monthly stipend is Rs. 15,000 for Graduate, Rs. 12,000 for Diploma and Rs. 9,600 for ITI Trade apprentices, with the Government contributing a portion through DBT. Training duration is 1 year. Domicile of one of 11 specified North Indian states or UTs is mandatory. Candidates must have passed their qualifying degree, diploma or ITI in 2024 or after. Graduate and Diploma apprentices apply through the NATS 2.0 portal (nats.education.gov.in); ITI Trade apprentices apply through the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in). The last date for online application is 16 September 2026. There is no application fee and no written examination. This apprenticeship carries no assurance of regular employment with AAI.

Important Note: Three things every applicant must verify before submitting. First, domicile of one of the 11 specified states or UTs is mandatory – only candidates from Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh or Uttarakhand are eligible. Candidates from any other state or UT cannot apply regardless of their qualification or passing year. Second, candidates with 1 year or more of post-qualification job experience or apprenticeship experience are not eligible as per the Apprentices Act, 1961. This is an important bar that excludes working professionals or those who have already trained elsewhere after completing their degree or diploma. Third, the training location allotted is final and cannot be changed – AAI Northern Region covers airports across Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, Punjab, HP, J&K, MP and other northern states, and your posting will be at one of the 40-plus airports and offices in this region based on your registration location on the portal. If you are unwilling to be posted at a remote northern airport, consider carefully before applying.

Selection Process

Adampur, Agra, Aligarh, Amritsar, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Bhatinda, Bikaner, CATC-Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Dehradun, Farrukhabad, Fursatganj, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Halwara or Ludhiana, Hindon, Hissar, Jammu, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Kangra-Gaggal, Kanpur, Khajuraho, Kishangarh, Kota, Kullu-Bhuntar, Kushinagar, Leh, Lucknow, Meerut, Moradabad, Muirpur, Pantnagar, Pathankot, Pithoragarh, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj Airport, Safdarjung, Shravasti, Shimla, Srinagar, Udaipur, Varanasi, and various offices in New Delhi.

The allocated airport or station is final. No change of training location is entertained at any stage.


How to Apply for AAI NR Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27

Graduate and Diploma Apprentices – NATS 2.0 Portal

  1. Visit the official NATS 2.0 portal – Click Here
  2. Click Student, then General Student (for Diploma or Graduate pass-outs).
  3. Click Student Registration and keep ready: a valid personal email, mobile number, Aadhaar number, qualifying or provisional certificate in PDF under 1 MB, and APAAR ID.
  4. Verify your mobile and email via OTP, complete Aadhaar e-KYC verification.
  5. Complete the registration form (basic details auto-populate from UIDAI), add educational details, set a password and submit.
  6. Verify your account via the email confirmation link, log in and complete your profile: Basic Details, Educational Details (upload or fetch via DigiLocker or APAAR), Communication Details and Training Preferences.
  7. Preview and submit your profile to receive your Student Enrolment ID.
  8. Search for establishment: Airports Authority of India – RHQ NR, New Delhi (NDLSWC000002) and click Apply for the relevant discipline and category.

ITI Trade Apprentices – NAPS Portal

  1. Visit the official NAPS portal – Click Here
  2. Click Register, then select Candidate, fill in Basic, Family and Contact details, and submit.
  3. Activate your account via the email link, then log in.
  4. Click Complete Your Profile and add all required details – this is mandatory before applying.
  5. Search for establishment using code E05200700101 (Airports Authority of India – RHQ NR) and click Apply.
  6. If offered a contract, review and click Sign to accept.

Important Instructions
  • Domicile of one of the 11 specified states or UTs is mandatory.
  • Passing year must be 2024 or after. Earlier batches are not eligible.
  • Candidates with 1 year or more of post-qualification job experience or apprenticeship are not eligible.
  • Candidates who have completed, terminated midway, or are currently pursuing apprenticeship anywhere at the same qualification level are not eligible.
  • Apply for only one discipline. Multiple discipline applications are rejected.
  • Training location is final and cannot be changed at any stage.
  • No TA or DA is admissible for attending document verification or the interview.
  • The apprenticeship contract ceases automatically after 12 months. Acts of indiscipline during training can lead to contract cancellation.
  • Merely being shortlisted does not entitle a candidate to selection. All selections are provisional until final verification and medical clearance.
  • Reservation for SC, ST, OBC and EWS is applicable. Unfilled reserved seats are adjusted from other categories.

Rs. 15,000 per month for Graduate Apprentices (Rs. 8,850 from AAI and Rs. 6,150 from Government via DBT), Rs. 12,000 per month for Diploma Apprentices (Rs. 6,550 from AAI and Rs. 5,450 from Government via DBT) and Rs. 9,600 per month for ITI Trade Apprentices. There is no application fee.
