RRB JE RECRUITMENT 2026

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, have released Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 04/2026 (JE/DMS) dated 25 July 2026 inviting online applications for 3993 vacancies of Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) across 37 post categories in the Electrical, Engineering (Civil), Mechanical, Signal and Telecommunication and Stores departments of Indian Railways. The recruitment is being conducted through 21 Railway Recruitment Boards covering all Railway Zones and Production Units. Pay is at Level-6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of Rs. 35,400 per month. Applications open on 14 August 2026 and close on 13 September 2026 at 23:59 hrs, with fee payment allowed until 15 September 2026. A modification window is available from 16 to 25 September 2026. Selection is through a 1st Stage CBT (screening), 2nd Stage CBT (discipline-specific), Document Verification and Medical Examination. Both CBTs carry negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer.

Important Note: Three things every applicant must lock in before submitting. First, you can apply to only one RRB – applying to more than one leads to rejection of all your applications and debarment from future RRB and RRC examinations. Choose your RRB carefully based on the RRB-wise vacancy list, as the post you are finally selected for will be from the vacancies advertised under your chosen RRB. Second, the age reckoning date is 01 January 2027, not the application date – your age as on 01 January 2027 must fall between 18 and 33 years (or within the relaxed upper limit for your category). A candidate born on 01 January 2009 is the youngest eligible and a UR candidate born on 02 January 1994 is the oldest eligible. Check your actual date of birth against this before applying. Third, the mobile number and email ID you enter while creating your account cannot be changed at any stage, including during the modification window – use a personal, active mobile number and a regularly checked email ID, as all communications including admit cards, result notifications and call letters for DV and Medical will be sent only to these contacts.
