State Bank of India (SBI), Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, Corporate Centre, Mumbai, has released the notification for SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026, inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre. Published under Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17, the recruitment covers 7,680 regular vacancies plus 1,444 backlog vacancies, totaling 9,124 posts, spread across 24 States/UTs. Online registration and fee payment run from 11 August 2026 to 31 August 2026. The Preliminary Examination is tentatively scheduled for September 2026, and the Main Examination for November 2026.
Important Note: Three things every applicant should know before 31 August 2026. First, candidates can apply for only one State/UT, and must be proficient in that State/UT’s specified local language – choose carefully, as no correction is allowed after submission. Second, no minimum qualifying marks apply in the Preliminary Exam, but roughly 10 times the vacancies (category-wise) are shortlisted for the Main Exam based on aggregate marks – so a good Prelims score matters even without a cutoff. Third, candidates who did not study the specified local language in Class 10 or 12 must clear a Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) after being provisionally selected – this is a real hurdle, not a formality.
