About the Project

The research project focuses on developing low-cost, portable, biodegradable nano-sensing electrodes capable of detecting heavy metals in water sources in the North-Eastern region of India. The project addresses a critical environmental and public health challenge in remote and rural Northeast India, where access to conventional water testing infrastructure is limited. The work is sponsored by the Integrated Eco-Development Research Programme (IERP) under G. B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, a premier institution under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.

The Project Assistant will work directly under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Anup Kumar Sharma, in the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, NIT Silchar.
