The Society for Centralized Recruitment of Staff in Subordinate Courts (S.S.S.C.), functioning under the High Court of Punjab and Haryana at Chandigarh, has released Detailed Employment Notice No. 37C/SSSC/PB/2026 dated 3 October 2026 inviting online applications for 1,270 posts of Clerk in the District Courts across the State of Punjab. Applications open on 7 October 2026 at 4:00 PM and close on 4 November 2026 at 4:00 PM at sssc.gov.in. The recruitment is by direct recruitment. Selection is through an online Computer Based Test followed by a qualifying Computer Proficiency Test and document verification.

Important Note: Three critical things every candidate must know. First, Punjabi as a subject at Matriculation level is mandatory. Candidates who passed Matriculation without Punjabi as a subject are NOT eligible, regardless of their graduation qualification. Second, all reservation benefits, fee concessions and age relaxations apply ONLY to bonafide residents of the State of Punjab. Answer Key and Objections

A provisional answer key is published on sssc.gov.in after the exam. Objections can be raised with reasons and documentary proof on payment of Rs. 25 per objection (non-refundable). If exam is held in multiple shifts, scores are normalised using the Standard Deviation Method.

How to Apply for Punjab and Haryana High Court Clerk Recruitment 2026

  1. Visit sssc.gov.in from 7 October 2026 at 4:00 PM onwards.
  2. Under “Clerk District Courts of Punjab,” complete the Registration form first.
  3. After registration, fill the Application Form carefully – no changes are permitted after submission.
  4. Capture a real-time photograph using a webcam as required in the application.
  5. Upload scanned recent passport-size photograph (not more than 1 month old, white background) and signature.
  6. Pay the applicable fee online (net banking/debit card/credit card/UPI). Application is considered submitted only after successful payment.
  7. Submit before 4 November 2026 at 4:00 PM.
  8. Print and keep 5 copies of the uploaded photograph for later stages.

Important Instructions

  • Only ONE application per category. If multiple are submitted, only the latest is considered.
  • Reservation benefits only for bonafide Punjab residents. Reserved category candidates from other states must apply under UR/General.
  • Government employees must submit an NOC from their Head of Office/Department when called.
  • E-Admit Cards are uploaded on sssc.gov.in and must be downloaded by candidates. Not sent by post.
  • No mobile phones, electronic gadgets, watches or jewellery inside the exam centre.
  • Candidates must undertake willingness to work anywhere in Punjab.
