Naval Dockyard Mumbai, through its Dockyard Apprentice School, has invited online applications for enrolment in Apprenticeship Training in Designated Trades (IT-28), under Advertisement No. DAS (MBI)/APP/IT-28. A total of 283 vacancies are to be filled across 32 trades – covering Non-ITI (2 trades), ITI-qualified (30 trades), and fresher candidates, both male and female – under MSDE/GoI guidelines and the Apprentices Act, 1961. Applications are accepted online only, through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme registration portal.
Important Note: Three things to check before applying. First, the application dates are given as a formula, not fixed calendar dates – registration opens on the 5th day after the notice is published in Employment News (3-9 October 2026), and closes 21 days after that opening date, both timed from 1000/2355 hrs respectively – work out your own exact dates from this. Second, there is no upper age limit for this apprenticeship – only a minimum age (14 or 18 years, depending on the trade) applies. Third, you can apply for more than one trade in the same application, but if two chosen trades fall in the same exam shift, you can appear for only one of them – choose your trade combination carefully.
