Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must fulfill one of the following qualification criteria for the respective discipline.
A Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55 percent marks, or an equivalent grade, from a recognized university, along with a valid NET, SLET or SET qualification. Candidates belonging to SC, ST or differently abled categories require a minimum of 50 percent marks in their Master’s Degree. Alternatively, candidates possessing a PhD Degree awarded as per UGC Regulations are exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement. Candidates holding a PhD from a university ranked among the top 500 in the world as per QS, THE or ARWU rankings are also eligible without NET/SLET/SET.
Candidates must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to be eligible for this recruitment.
Age Limit (As on 1 January 2026)
Candidates under Open Merit category and other categories must be between 18 and 40 years of age. Following a corrigendum, in-service government employees are eligible up to 45 years of age. Candidates belonging to Reserved Categories are eligible up to 43 years, and Physically Challenged candidates are eligible up to 42 years, as per applicable age relaxation rules.
Application Fee
Candidates belonging to the General Category are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 1,200/-. Candidates belonging to Reserved Categories are required to pay Rs. 700/-. Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.
Salary
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-10, carrying a pay scale of Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month, as per the revised pay structure notified through corrigendum. This corresponds to the pre-revised pay band of Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000.
