DME Assam Recruitment 2026 - 10 Professor Posts

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, under the Medical Education and Research (ME&R) Department, Government of Assam, released a notification on 27 August 2026 for walk-in engagement of 10 contractual Professor posts in five nursing disciplines — Community Health Nursing (4), Medical Surgical Nursing (2), Paediatric Nursing (2), Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Nursing (1) and Mental Health Nursing (1) — across Government Nursing Colleges of Assam. The walk-in interview is on 31 August 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Office of the Director of Medical Education, Sixmile, Khanapara, Guwahati. There is no online application; candidates must download the prescribed form from dme.assam.gov.in, fill it, and appear with all original documents tomorrow.

Important – Read Before You Go: Three things to confirm before you leave for Guwahati. First, the walk-in is tomorrow — 31 August 2026 at 11:00 AM — the notification was issued only 4 days ago; candidates in Assam who have missed this notice must decide and act immediately. Second, two mandatory registrations are required simultaneously — valid registration under the Assam Nurses’ Midwives and Health Visitors’ Council AND a valid Assam Employment Exchange Registration Certificate; missing either will disqualify your application at the document verification stage before the panel even sees you. Third, this is a contractual engagement, not a permanent government post — the nature of engagement is contractual for the Government Nursing Colleges of Assam under the ME&R Department; read the official notification in full for tenure, service conditions and any bond requirements before appearing.
