NSRY Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - 50 Posts

The Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY), Sri Vijaya Puram, under the Ministry of Defence (Navy), has invited online applications under Advertisement No. NSRY(SVP)/IT03/26 for enrolment to the Technician (Vocational) Apprentice Programme for One Year – IT-03 Batch, Training Batch 2026-27. A total of 50 apprenticeship vacancies are notified across 13 designated ITI trades including Electrician, Fitter, ICTSM, Shipwright (Wood), Welder, Mechanic (Diesel), Machinist, Instrument Mechanic, Pipe Fitter, Sheet Metal Worker and PASAA. The programme is governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 read with the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992. ITI-qualified Indian nationals, male and female, may apply online only through the official Navy apprenticeship portal. The advertisement is published in the Employment News issue of 15 to 21 August 2026, and the application window closes at 2359 hrs on 10 October 2026. Training is tentatively scheduled to commence on 1 December 2026 at Sri Vijaya Puram in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. There is no upper age limit.

Important Note: Three things every applicant must understand before applying. First, the portal opening date is not a fixed calendar date in the advertisement – it is defined only as the third day at 1000 hrs from the date the advertisement is published in Employment News (15 to 21 August 2026 issue). You cannot plan around a stated date; check the official apprenticeship portal directly to find out when registration actually opens. The closing date, however, is fixed at 2359 hrs on 10 October 2026. Second, NSRY is a defence establishment and your antecedents matter – applications from candidates with questionable or suspicious antecedents will be summarily rejected without any intimation, and if police verification later fails to produce a clean certificate, a selected candidature will be cancelled outright. Candidates convicted, under trial, or facing chargesheet proceedings should not apply. Third, the training is in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and you bear every cost of getting there – no travelling allowance is admissible for the interview, document verification or joining, and NSRY makes no boarding or lodging arrangements at any stage. Factor in flights or ship passage to Sri Vijaya Puram and your own accommodation before you apply. Verify all details from the official advertisement published on the Navy apprenticeship portal before submitting.
