ECoR GDCE Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 1421 Posts

Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), East Coast Railway (ECoR), Bhubaneswar has released Notification No. ECoR/Pers/RRC-GDCE/2026 dated 07 August 2026 for the General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) 2026, inviting online applications for 1421 vacancies across seven post categories – Assistant Loco Pilot (1046), Station Master (12), Goods Trains Manager (284), Junior Engineer (22), Technicians (51), Junior Clerk cum Typist (4), and Commercial Clerk cum Ticket Collector (2). This recruitment fills 25% of the net Direct Recruitment Quota vacancies in Safety and Non-Safety category posts across ECoR divisions – Khurda Road (KUR), Waltair (WAT), Sambalpur (SBP), MCS/CRW, and ECoR Headquarters. IMPORTANT: This is NOT an open-market recruitment. Only regular and eligible employees of East Coast Railway (including erstwhile Waltair division/SCoR employees), excluding RPF/RPSF staff, who currently hold lien in ECoR, are eligible to apply. Candidates who are not ECoR employees cannot apply. The online application window is from 15 August 2026 to 14 September 2026 at rrcbbs.org.in. Pay levels range from Pay Level 2 (ALP/Technicians) to Pay Level 6 (Station Master/JE) under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Selection is through Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by CBAT for ALP and Station Master, Typing Skill Test for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Document Verification, and Medical Examination.

Important Note: Three things every eligible ECoR employee must know before 14 September 2026. First, this GDCE is exclusively for existing ECoR regular employees – no external candidates can apply under any circumstances; employees who have resigned from ECoR, transferred out of ECoR, or are currently working with RPF/RPSF are also not eligible; verify that you currently hold lien in ECoR/erstwhile Waltair division/SCoR before applying. Second, the printed application must be forwarded by your controlling officer – after submitting the online application, you must print it, get it signed and forwarded by your controlling officer, and upload the scanned signed copy under the supporting documents tab; an application without the controlling officer’s forwarded and signed PDF will be rejected outright. Third, SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates must produce original certificates in the exact prescribed formats (Annexure-C, D, and E of the notification) at document verification – certificates not in the prescribed format will result in the candidature being assessed under the UR category with the UR upper age limit of 42 years, which may make the candidate overage.
